Voila! It's me Bahhareh, Founder and CEO of IMAIMA - a fashion brand from Berlin, weaving stories inspired by a woman's life, her identity, and her love for culture.
This Women's Day I'd like to briefly share my story:
Growing up in a Muslim family in Berlin was not very easy back in the 90s. At that time there was no social media and people were not as loud as now in their individuality. I loved fashion but I had no opportunity to combine my religion and culture with it. There was no modest collection in the stores. It was very hard as a teenager to put both under one roof. So I decided to make fashion for women like me who have the same struggles.

Happy International Women's Day! Being a women's fashion brand, founded by a woman and run by women and men equally, we aim to send a message of equality, empowerment and ethics. The name IMAIMA is a combination of different girl names from the middle east. We at IMAIMA believe in empowering women. Our journey has been unique and fulfilling.
Women are our muse - their untold stories, the different cultures, and diverse perspectives. When we thought of coming up with a factory of our own, our aim was to create employment in the local regions in India where men and women could work together. Our ladies are equal bread-winners of their family, their devotion and hard-work enables their children to attend school. We are proud of the women of IMAIMA!
This Women's Day let us embrace diversity and empower women all over the world to be who they want to be.
