World Environment Day 2023 x IMAIMA Embracing Sustainability and Fair Trade in Fashion

As we observe World Environment Day (June 5) and World Oceans Day (June 8), it is critical to emphasise the significance of sustainable practices and ethical fashion in our ever-changing world. ÏMAIMA stands out in the fast-paced fashion sector for its unwavering commitment to fair trade, sustainable practices, and innovative packaging solutions. Today, we look at how ÏMAIMA combines fashion and environmental awareness by emphasising upcycling, sustainable production processes, and responsible packaging and how it sets an example for the industry.

  • Use of natural fibres: Cotton is our favourite natural fabric, and it is used to make each garment at ÏMAIMA. It is a natural cloth that is biodegradable, long-lasting, easy to care for, and comfortable. Cotton's inherent properties allow the colour to last longer than its artificial version. Nowadays, the main concern for a wearer is that the garment does not cause allergic reactions. Fortunately, natural-fibre clothes are hypoallergenic and breathable. They are extremely light while providing warmth and protection in various ways.

  • Minimise wastage: At ÏMAIMA, we work tirelessly to create new designs with zero waste. We use our leftover fabrics for smaller styles or upcoming collections. We seek to produce in small quantities to ensure our designs are unique, decreasing storage costs and waste.

  • Sustainable packaging: ÏMAIMA's packaging is not only environmentally friendly but also simple but exquisite. Packaging comprises 100% recycled hand-made paper, from hang tags to shipping boxes. We also attempt to utilise as little packaging material as possible and avoid using plastic. #beatplasticpollution

  • Upcycling: ÏMAIMA believes in the 'joy of giving' and partnered with 'Umang Jaipur,' an N.G.O in India. The NGO benefits from selling upcycled masks from samples and leftover fabrics from our timeless collections.

  • Fair Trade: Fair Trade is a long-term solution for vulnerable groups to combat exploitation and economic distress and raise awareness.

World Environment Day and World Oceans Day serve as a reminder that even our fashion choices significantly impact the environment. ÏMAIMA's constant dedication to fair trade, sustainable practices, upcycling, and eco-friendly packaging demonstrates the powerful impact brands can have. By embracing ethical fashion, we empower people, decrease waste, and lower our carbon footprint. Let us celebrate Environment Day together by making careful choices and embracing a fashion brand representing our commitment to a greener, fairer, and more sustainable society.
